The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical characteristics and the treatment of acute poisoning in older people admitted to Vietnam Poison Control Center (PCC). A retrospective descriptive study was conducted at the PCC from January to August 2019 with 275 acute poisoned patients aged 60 and over.

  • This cross-sectional study aimed to describe sleep disturbance and its association with frailty syndrome among 903 older adults at the National Geriatric Hospital in Vietnam. Frailty was diagnosed according to the Fried criteria. Sleep disturbances was assessed based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Of 903 patients, the mean age was 71.8 (SD = 8.5), and 537 (59.5%) were female

  • The objective was to identify the prevalence of benzodiazepine use in older inpatients. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at National Geriatric Hospital in 2020 with 258 participants aged 60 and older. Benzodiazepine use was assessed through interview older in-patients about all of sleeping pills they have used before being admitted to the hospital and combined with review of the medical record. The mean age was 73.9 years old
