  • Abstract—Based on the theory of cognitive linguistics, this article investigates computer-related conceptual metaphors in discourses in online Vietnamese newspapers to clarify how Vietnamese people conceptualize thetarget domain of "brain" via the source domain of “computer”.   • Developing linguistic competence for junior level students in Vietnam is an emerging issue that needs attention. This paper applies interdisciplinary research methods which are a combination of linguistics and educational sciences. The combination of the questionnaire survey method and class observation is used to evaluate students' language competencies, especially, speaking and listening. The analytical method is used to analyze linguistic skills that are necessary to be created for students during this stage.   • E-commerce applications: A study of customers' behavioral intentions and behaviors of using these applications towwards online shopping

  • This study uses the UTAUT2 (Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology) model as well as adding other factors such as Platform Usability, User Autonomy to determine the behavioral intention and behavior of online shoppers using e-commerce applications (ECAs) in Vietnam. Using the analysis results from structural equation modeling, it was shown that Social Influence, Use Proficiency, Hedonic Motivation, User Skill, Effort Expectancy positively affect Behavioral Intention. At the same time, Behavioral Intention is negatively affected by Performance Expectancy. Behavioral Intention and Facilitating Conditions are two factors that positively affect Use Behavior.   • Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang được tiến hành trên 288 bác sỹ làm việc tại Bệnh viện Đa khoa quốc tế Vinmec Times City. Số liệu được thu thập bằng bộ câu hỏi tự điền sử dụng thang điểm Likert 5 mức độ.Kết luận: Tỷ lệ nhân viên có động lực làm việc tốt khá cao. Các yếu tố liên quan có ý nghĩa thống kê đến động lực làm việc bao gồm: hài lòng với chế độ quản lý của bệnh viện, thái độ tích cực với công tác quản lý, đáp ứng nguyện vọng và quyền lợi cá nhân (lương, thưởng, chế độ phúc lợi). Trình độ chuyên môn, nghề nghiệp và thái độ tích cực về các góp ý cho bệnh viện cũng liên quan đến động lực làm việc của nhân viên.

  • Responding to epidemics: the case of the Nguyễn dynasty, focusing on the period 1802-1883

  • In the past, Vietnam was impacted by numerous epidemics, particularly during the Nguyễn Dynasty from 1802 to 1883. Based on data from the Đại Nam Thực Lục (1961) (The Veritable Records of the Great South), this article investigates the frequency and nature of these epidemics, identifies the types of common diseases at that time, and explores the underlying causes of these outbreaks. The study further examinesthe Nguyễn Dynasty’s strategies for managing these health crises. During these outbreaks, the dynasty faced significant challenges, with frequent epidemics leading to high death rates, widespread social disruption, and economic decline.
