An analysis of presuppositions used by the main characters in the film " the pursuit of happyness" and its application in teaching pragmatics.

Abstract

Practically, this research will be a good idea for teachers to use films as authentic materials to teach pragmatics which is abstract to most students. The researcher also expects that the designed exercises will save the teacher’s time in preparing material when teaching presupposition. For students, this research is expected to be a good resource for English language students when they study pragmatics in school.
